Decking

Wood Decking

Shur-Way has a large selection of different types of wood decking either on hand or easily accessible. Below are a few of the most popular options that we offer:

Cedar Decking – Western Red Cedar has been the ‘Standard’ for wood decking for as long as it has been being harvested out of the Pacific NW and Canada. Cedar is known for its beautiful color, nice fragrance, and ability to withstand the NW elements. We stock 2×6 Cedar ‘kerf back’ (Pro-Deck) decking in 8′, 10′, 12′, 14′, and 16′ lengths. It may also be available in longer lengths, but you should call ahead to make sure.

Elite Wood

Elite Wood Decking – Elite Deck is pressure treated Douglas Fir decking that is pre-stained with a long lasting cedar color. This decking is treated without ‘incising’ the wood so it works great for any above ground use such as decks, play structures, or railings and won’t have the less attractive treatment marks in it. Elite wood is typically in stock in 2×6 in 8′, 10′, 12′, 14′, 16′ and 20′ lengths and is the latest and best in the line of ‘Outdoor Wood’ style decking. We also stock 2×2, 2×4, and 4×4 in Elite Wood and have access to a number of other sizes as well.

Batu Hardwood Decking

Hardwood Decking – At our Vancouver, WA yard we stock 5/4 x 4 and 5/4 x 6 Dark Red Meranti decking. This is a dense hardwood decking in the Mahogany line and is available in random lengths. We also have IPE, Tigerwood, and select styles of Bamboo hardwood decking available as well. Hardwood decking can be very long lasting when cared for properly and we would be happy to discuss the pros and cons of any of these options with you if you decide that a hardwood deck is best for you.

Outdoor Railing

Deck, Rail, & Patio Cover by Lifestyles Deck & Fence

Outdoor Railing can be a simple wood structure that simply does the job to keep the kids from falling off your new, high-elevation deck, or outdoor railing can become an intricate and complex statement that defines a space. Either way, we can help you with your outdoor railing and guide you through the materials you may need.

Many customers are surprised to find out that their outdoor railing can cost as much as the deck itself. This can be a real shock if the expense of an outdoor railing system is not budgeted at the start. Check out the different options that we can help you with below. These are common outdoor railing options and do not encompass all options so make sure and ask if you are looking for something you do not see below. We will be happy to find it for you and help you make that perfect railing!

Elite Wood Railing

Cedar Wood Railing- The traditional look for Western Red Cedar gives a clean look to any deck. With a little stain and upkeep, it can last beautifully for many seasons. We carry 2×4’s, 2×2’s, 2×6’s and 4×4’s in stock to match your new deck. While the cost is more than Outdoor Wood, it is still an economical choice for most homeowners.

Trex Reveal Aluminum Railing

TREX Reveal Aluminum Railing- TREX Reveal Aluminum Railing surpasses all other “boxed” aluminum railing in its beauty, price, and ease of installation. As simple as 1, 2, 3, to order and just as easy to install: Trex Reveal comes in 3 stunning railing colors. And it is backed by TREX’s unbeatable 25-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Approximate Lineal Foot Price Range: $30 – $55

TimberTech & Other Composite Railing- Composite railing is color-matched to the decking and makes a seamless transition between the deck and railing. Timbertech is versatile since its ornamental railing components come in railing kits and baluster kits, allowing the homeowner to mix and match colors if they so choose. Also, composite colors are typically complimentary so your deck and railing do not have to match. They also have white and black railing styles for a classic or elegant look. Where the price on composite is more than any of the other railings listed, its a low-maintenance option that looks great and can match your new composite deck.
